SONGS of My Life
Music!! It is part my me, part of my family heritage. My mother sang in the choir at St. Barnabas
Reading, writing, parenting…that’s what I do. My first career: teaching English literature at the secondary level. After my children were born, I fulfilled another desire, becoming an RN, working in Labor & Delivery at Mercy Hospital, Chicago. When we moved to Des Moines, I attended the University of Iowa Writing Workshops and worked as a proofreader for Meredith Books. In 2015, Foreverland Press published my collection of stories, A Mother’s Time Capsule. My work has appeared in literary magazines, The Chicago Tribune, Better Homes & Gardens and the Des Moines Register.
I look forward to sharing my weekly posts with you on elizabethahavey.com
I am a member of the Women’s Fiction Writers Association.
